Development Pathway

Caribe Projects

El Cobre, Copper/Gold

Currently a small to medium scale development target with good grades of copper and gold, however previous deep drilling on the deposit provided a focus on looking at the likelihood of a deep epithermal poly-metallic deposit.

Cajalbana, Nickel/Cobalt

Work will also be undertaken in tandem with the development work planned for El Cobre, Caribe management plans to deliver a program of works at Cajalbana that will progress a timeline for a medium scale nickel and cobalt operation.

Caribe Metals is a developing mining company that has secured title over two significant projects in Cuba.

El Cobre Project Map

El Cobre, Copper/Gold

Located in the south-eastern part of the country, it has a large existing resource of approximately 10.3Mt with high copper grades averaging 1.8% including gold mineralisation with grades as high as 4g/t. A Certificate of Dominion over the El Cobre Project and associated areas was granted on the 24th of February 2020 allowing the holder full access rights to minerals, water and mining and redefining the asset parameters via new drill program.

Cajalbana Project Map

Cajalbana, Nickel/Cobalt

Situated in the north-west of Cuba. It remains the only nickel prospective area in this part of the country with all previous production occurring in the eastern provinces (Sherritt with the Moa project as an example). Preliminary estimates provided by the Cuban Government provide for a projected  annualized production of  20,000 tpa of nickel and 2,000  tpa of cobalt. Previous work on the project provide for an initial estimate of 51Mt of ore with a 1.1% nickel and 0.06% cobalt containing 535,500t of nickel and 30,600t of cobalt respectively.
